Jugendstil villa 'Rams Woerthe'

In Steenwijk stands the beautiful Jugendstil villa 'Rams Woerthe'. The name refers to the pasture or meadow upon which this large house was built and which was owned by former mayor Ram in the 17th century. The villa is a must for lovers of architecture and interiors. It was designed by architect Van Gendt, who also designed the Concertgebouw and, together with Cuypers, Amsterdam Central Station.

Ingenuity in the DAF Museum

Fun fact: the abbreviation DAF stood for Van Doorne's Aanhangwagenfabriek N.V. (Trailer Factory) and later Van Doorne's Automobielfabriek N.V. (Automobile Factory). The DAF Museum in Eindhoven is full of such fun facts about this Dutch car and truck manufacturer. You will be amazed by the ingenuity which characterises DAF vehicles since the company was founded in 1932.

Paint as Van Gogh

Loving Vincent, a film about the life of Vincent Van Gogh, is the first completely painted feature film in the world. The paint used in the film is acrylic, made in the Royal Talens paint factory in Apeldoorn. And on this day, that's exactly the paint you'll use to paint a scene from the film on their Van Goghs! The workshop will be given by a teacher/visual artist.
